His mouth was getting dryer by the minute, and sweat was soaking through his shirt. He had read about dying due to overheating in a car and feared it would be his faith as well.
Driven by a state of panic, he tried to pull his hands out of the handcuffs, but his thumb was in the way.
Luckily, his sweat made everything slippery, and the handcuff slowly moved further over his hand.
