As I wandered through, I noticed a guest accidentally dropping their utensils. Instinctively, I bent down to help, gathering forks and knives to hand back to them.

‘Thank you,’ the guest smiled gratefully, a small glimmer of light in the midst of the restaurant chaos.

I returned their smile, feeling that even small gestures could make a difference in turbulent times like these.

It reminded me of the improvement the hotel desperately needed.
