Confidence Faltering
When introductions ended, I took center stage. “Thank you, everyone,” I started, locking eyes with Karen.
Her smile faltered as it dawned on her—this guest was actually the owner. The realization hit her hard, and her confidence vanished in an instant.
Her expression shifted, a stormcloud replacing sunny skies. The room erupted in low murmurs. Watching her gradual acknowledgement was something else.
She had dismissed me so easily before, but now it was time to address all that had transpired.
