House Noises, Nothing New
We both laughed it off, diagnosing the sounds as typical old-house groans. Houses do settle, that’s what people always say, right?
So, we clicked play and returned our attention to the film, letting the tension float away with the unfolding drama on screen.
After all, we had heard house noises before, and nothing ever came of them. I let it go and sank deeper into the couch, trying to enjoy the rest of the evening.
