A tunnel below
Beneath the van’s wooden floor she uncovered a dark, hidden hole that led straight into a crudely dug tunnel. Suzan stared at the opening, her heart racing quickly in her chest.
The tunnel looked narrow, barely wide enough for a person to crawl through, its earthen walls vanishing into shadow.
