Ear-deafening
Brody looked at the outside light moving into the tunnel behind them and was already walking toward it when suddenly a loud whining sound arose from deep within the mountain.
It was high-pitched and almost ear-deafening. “That was absolutely not the wind,” Brody said as he felt the hairs of his arm stand up straight.
