Everything looks different
The lobby looked different as Ernest walked through it for the last time. He saw guests coming and going, some of them waving, not knowing he wouldn’t be there tomorrow.
He kept his head down, holding back tears. The hotel doors closed behind him, and he stepped out into the street.
