At lunch, Adams found Ernest in the staff room. He approached slowly, his head bowed. “Mr. Collins… I’m sorry. I treated you terribly. You didn’t deserve it.”
Ernest smiled, forgiving and kind as always. “Everyone deserves a second chance. Even managers,” he said softly. Adams felt a huge weight lift from his shoulders.
