Feeling Disconnected Suddenly
Returning the blood test results to their place on the desk, I felt a strange detachment. The titles and labels in the living room—Dad, husband—were words that suddenly felt foreign.
Like trying on a coat that’s no longer your size, nothing seemed to fit. It was odd, unsettling, to sit with the family but not feel like part of it.
Somehow, the familiar routines seemed like they belonged to someone else, not me.
