Bill cleared his throat. “Is something wrong?” he asked, hoping this was about a maintenance report or budget cut.
The principal didn’t respond right away. He just stared at Bill with a look that felt cold, almost empty. Bill shifted in his seat, suddenly very aware of how unfamiliar this man was to him.
