Extending his hand
Carefully, he extended his hand toward the nest, hesitating slightly as he prepared for the worst. He half-expected something to dart out at him—a sudden flurry of wings, an explosion of movement.
But to his surprise, nothing happened. The nest remained completely still, as if it had been abandoned long ago.
