Attic hatch
He stood up and cautiously moved toward the center of the bedroom, his eyes fixed on the ceiling above.
His attic hatch was just a few feet away in the hall, a small square in the plaster that led to the dark space above. His heart pounded harder as he debated whether he should check it.
