Short honeymoon
Lucas suggested we cut our honeymoon short to better address the situation. ‘I hate seeing you like this,’ he said gently.
‘Maybe we need to confront this head-on and get some answers.’ His suggestion made sense, but it also filled me with a sense of dread.
I had hoped the honeymoon would be an escape from my family’s drama, not a prelude to more conflict.
However, I knew he was right; we couldn’t ignore this forever.
