Considering The Police
Mike and I sat at the kitchen table, going over everything we knew. ‘Should we get the police involved?’ Mike asked, rubbing his temples.

‘We don’t have anything solid,’ I replied, feeling helpless. Without hard evidence, it seemed like a lost cause. Our fears alone weren’t enough.
‘What if we’re wrong, Emily?’ Mike wondered aloud, doubt creeping in. We needed something concrete, something more than just our gut feeling, and it was frustrating.
