Unable to shake off the unease, Mike decided to seek more answers. “I’ll check his workplace,” he announced one morning.
Disguised as a customer, Mike entered the mechanic shop. The oily smell and sounds of tools clanking filled the air.
Mike watched, pretending to browse. He noted the people, their reactions whenever Sarah’s boyfriend, Roger, was around.
But Mike returned with more questions than answers, as Roger seemed polite, almost too normal for comfort.
