“Chris,” his boss said as he wrapped an arm around my husband’s shoulder. “Let’s have a chat in the hallway, shall we?”
Chris’s eyes immediately darted to me, as he had seen me talking to his boss only moments ago. Panic was written all over his face as his boss let him out of the room, and everyone fell silent.
