Carlos hangs up
When pressed for details, Carlos became defensive and hung up, leaving Alex more frustrated than ever. “Carlos, why now? What’s going on?”
Alex pleaded. Silence fell on the line, followed by Carlos’s stammering. “I… I just can’t explain right now.”
Before Alex could respond, the click of the disconnected call echoed in his ear. “He hung up on me,”
Alex told Kelly, his frustration boiling over. “We’re getting nowhere with them,” Kelly replied, equally exasperated.
