Turning to Maria
First, Alex and Kelly turned to Maria, hoping she could shed some light on the situation. They called her up and arranged to meet at a local coffee shop.
“We need to understand what’s really happening,” Alex said as they walked in. Maria was already seated, her hands wrapped around a steaming cup of tea.
“Thank you for meeting us,” Kelly said, forcing a smile. Maria nodded, but her eyes looked distant.
