Recent gambling debt
They eventually found out Carlos had recently come into a lot of gambling debt. Alex and Kelly discovered this through more digging into recent transactions and conversations with people who knew Carlos.
“It’s worse than we thought,” Alex revealed to Kelly one evening. “He’s been gambling heavily, and it’s accumulated fast.”
Kelly shook her head, saddened but relieved that they at least had their home secured. “We need to help him, somehow,” she insisted.
