He seemed to be on edge, frequently glancing over his shoulder. Every sudden noise made him jump, and his eyes darted everywhere.
It was as if he was expecting someone to catch him again. My suspicion deepened. Whatever he was involved in, it was making him paranoid.
This odd behavior only strengthened my resolve to get to the bottom of the mystery. I grabbed my smartphone and began discretely recording his actions.
