Downstairs chaos
Kate’s living room was in complete shambles. Broken glass littered the floor, utensils scattered across the tiles, and a chair sat ripped open with stuffing spilling out.
Worst of all, Sadie’s kennel stood wide open, though Kate knew she had latched it firmly. Sadie was gone. “How is this possible?” she gasped, panic tightening her chest. The pup had vanished.
