Taking A Breather
Needing some air, I told my folks, “I’m heading into town, need a break.” They just nodded, seemingly too wrapped up in their excitement to notice my strained voice.
I grabbed my keys and headed out, feeling their lack of concern like a jab. Things had changed, but at that moment, I just needed to clear my mind, to make sense of the mess that had unfolded so quickly.
