Finally, I stopped at the local café, hoping a strong coffee would wash away some of the frustration inside me.

The café was buzzing with chatter, filled with familiar faces. I pushed the door open, hearing the little bell jingle above, and settled into my usual spot by the window.

Here, I could be alone with my thoughts, away from the betrayal of the morning. At least for now, it was a small escape.
