Time seemed to stand still as days turned into a waiting game at the shelter. Volunteers continued their regular visits, always hoping today might be the day.
“He just needs someone to see him,” one volunteer sighed, gently patting him. Across the room, a staff member nodded, holding on to the belief that the perfect home was simply waiting to discover the dog’s story.
Yet, the wait felt endless.
