Nervous Walks
Taking Rocky out for walks became a bit of a spectacle. He’d lead the way, but often paused, scanning the horizon like he expected someone to appear.
“Easy there, boy. It’s just us,” I’d say, trying to calm his nerves. He’d wag his tail, showing he was eager to move on, but those pauses told a story.
He was watching, waiting, and though I couldn’t yet, I knew I needed to see what he saw.
