Maddy’s tires screeched as they sped onto the highway. Derek kept checking the laptop, now shut tight in his bag, while Joshua scanned navigation apps for somewhere remote. “We need a place with no cameras, no signals,” Derek muttered.
Maddy nodded grimly. “I know a cabin—Dad’s old fishing spot. No one’s been there in years.”
