Mating and Killing Season
No, not all spiders kill their mates after mating. This behavior is observed in some species but is not a universal trait among all spiders. One of the most infamous examples is the black widow spider, where the female occasionally eats the male after mating, giving her the “widow” moniker.

The reason for this behavior varies; in some cases, it might be due to the female’s aggression or to provide necessary nutrients for the soon-to-be-developed eggs. However, males of certain species of spiders may even have evolved specific behaviors or physical adaptations to reduce their chances of becoming a post-mating snack.
