Swimming is a national sport, which is probably why it is so popular at the Olympic Games. Swimming has been part of the Olympic program since the first modern games (1896 in Athens). In 1912, women were allowed to jump into the cool water for the first time in this important sporting competition.

Our young lady also seems to be having a lot of fun in the water. What at first glance looks like her relatively lush stem turns out to be the lady’s knees on closer inspection. Because in order to pull her next length, she pushes herself powerfully off the edge of the pool with bent legs.
