Drowning out
The noise from a pop song on the radio filled the room, drowning out Anna’s voice. Desperate, Anna called out even louder, “Megan! Please!”
But the hairdresser didn’t hear her over the loud music, her attention focused on her food. Anna kept waving, but Megan still didn’t notice the panic on Anna’s face.
