Locked out
The sound of the metal shutters echoed as the clerk began pulling them down. Anna stood on the customer side, watching as the lights inside dimmed and the door locks clicked.
The shop was closing early, just to shut Anna out. Anna felt her hope vanish as she stood in the darkening doorway.
