A surprising bond
June watched in awe as the bat-like creature moved closer to Bill. The dog sniffed it cautiously before giving it a hesitant lick on the side of its head. The creature didn’t flinch this time.
Instead, it stayed still, almost as if it understood the gesture of acceptance.
