A burning light
Kate approached cautiously, her shoes crunching on the overgrown grass. The cabin looked so old and overgrown that she couldn’t imagine someone still living there. But a small light burning inside told her otherwise.
The door was slightly ajar, revealing a dim interior. The boxer barked softly as if urging Kate to enter the home. Kate hesitated, glancing around to see if anyone else was nearby, but the woods were silent.
